We are grape-growers and winemakers at heart - with mud on our boots and juice stains on our clothes.  We are passionate about our craft and relentless in our pursuit of high-quality wines.  We have something for every palette: dry, off dry, sweet, red, rosé and white - both Missouri Wines and Vinifera Blends made with grapes from across our nation.  We believe a great wine enjoyed with great people can become a lifelong memory.  It’s one of life’s simple pleasures- best enjoyed in a relaxed, quiet setting.  Spend a day at The Chateau and see why we are not like every other winery you have visited!

The Bartek Family clan currently consists of brothers Andy, Joe, Steve and sister Christine along with their patient, saintly spouses Amy, Annika, Nicky, and Felipe. These eight individuals make up the core ownership and “muscle” behind The Chateau.  After Andy brought forward the concept of a family winery on the farm back in 2019, the others quickly moved to have him committed.  But being more stubborn than a Missouri Mule, Andy simply started planting grapevines.  The rest, as they say, is history. 

Beyond description is a host of fun-loving children, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews and friends who all share in our journey.  Special in our hearts are our McClenahan brothers and sisters (okay, cousins) who were so instrumental in bringing “the farm” back to life.  We are so blessed to have these many loving family members alongside us as this adventure unfolds.

Originally settled by Madison McClenahan in the 1850s, we are blessed to operate on our 6th generation family farm and homestead.  Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri, “the farm” is located in the Fourche a du Clos valley (just outside of Bloomsdale).  It has been a cornerstone of life for the McClenahan and Bartek families.  From deer to turkey, cattle to crops, hogs to dogs… and everything in-between… the farm is more than a place to us.  It’s part of our heritage.
